Support
CCM is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization, founded in 1996 by George Dewey Glenn and devoted to assisting young Black boys on the Southside of Chicago to become responsible, contributing leaders in their communities and beyond. We do this by:

• Modeling discipline, planning, commitment to our communities and belief in God
• Mentoring the boys, serving as “Fathers to the Fatherless”, reflecting the highest standards of moral and spiritual integrity.
• Mastering academics and vocational education, demonstrating excellence in our studies
• Motivating the youth to achieve excellence by exposing them to environments outside of the hood and to speakers that reads like a Who’s Who of Black male leadership of Chicago, e.g., US Senator Roland Burris, Joseph Stroud, CEO of Jovon Broadcasting, Lerone Bennett, US Representative Bobby L. Rush and others
• Creating Momentum for achievement by competitive events like oratory contests, stock market games, and scholarships. The need is tremendous. The vast majority of these kids do not have positive male role models in their lives. They come from neighborhoods in Chicago with high poverty, high crime, poor schools, and with little substantive exposure to the world outside of the hood.

Our signature events are our Man-Boy breakfast, held every 3rd Saturday during the school year at Simeon Career Academy, a state-of –the-art vocational facility and three-times Illinois State Basketball Champions. Since 1996, over 29,000 boys have participated along with hundreds of Black Male mentors at 119 Man-Boy Breakfasts.

We have devised programs to dramatically elevate the impact that CCM has on the lives of our Black boys and on our community. Key elements of that plan are:

• Martial Arts, led by Shihan Larry Tankson, a 13 time World Champion and 9th degree black belt martial arts expert.
• The CCM Summer Camp, held at Beech Point Christian Camp, in Allegan, MI during each summer. Approximate 50 boys will earn an all-expense paid trip to the summer camp where we will involve them in activities and expose them to an environment vastly removed from the mean streets of the South Side.
• Saturday Vocational and Academic Education program at Simeon Career Academy. Several Simeon instructors have volunteered to assist us establishing introductory and continuing programs in CAD, computers, culinary, graphic design, construction and machine shop trades, and other academic areas.
• An Awards Dinner, to be held in June that celebrates, elevates and rewards the accomplishments of the boys

We welcome your support, both financially and organizationally. We are an all-volunteer organization and rely solely on the initiative of our dedicated volunteer staff and contributions.
