The 4th Annual Concerned Christian Men John E. Everett Awards Dinner was a rousing success! Held on June 12th at Apostolic Church of God, over 200 guests were in attendance, including our dinner speaker, the Honorable Senator Roland Burris, several other elected officials, CPS Elementary School Principals and administrators, families, guests and CCM Volunteers.

Exec Director George Glenn, US Senator Roland Burris,
Master of Ceremonies Cliff Kelly
The primary honorees were the 40 young men who earned scholarships to the 4th Annual CCM Thompkins-Stimley Summer Camp this August. These were the top 40 SCAPS students (Summer Camp Accumulated Points System) who distinguished themselves from the over 800 boys who participated in our programs during the 2009-10 school year.

We also paid homage to several other young boys who distinguished themselves through their Scholarship, Citizenship, and performance in our Stock Market Contest.
The theme of this year’s dinner was “The Courage to Serve: The Legacy of James T. Hadley”. Jim was one of the founders of CCM and epitomized what it meant to be a Concerned Christian Man. Our Community Service Award, which henceforth will be given in Jim Hadley’s honor, was awarded to Gregory White, President & CEO of LEARN Charter Schools (www.learncharter.org). Greg is leading an entrepreneurial effort to grow the network from 4 schools serving 1200 students to 16 schools serving 8,000 students
